Sew Pink 2026...but in blue this year....

So honored to be part of the byAnnie #SewPink 2026!

The #SewPINK Initiative’s mission is to raise awareness, promote screenings, foster community, and support cancer research throughout the year.

Efforts culminate in an annual blog hop during October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but our commitment to cancer awareness and support continues year-round.

Thank you to Annie for highlighting a different cancer every month this past year. Every person on a cancer journey needs to be encouraged--by makers who make with their hands--putting their heart and prayers into every project.

That belief that every person on a health journey deserves to be recognized is what prompted me to design this batik fabric collection with Island Batik called Courageous Joy. Find the catalog with the other fabric colors HERE. Available for pre-order to shops now.

Blues that could work well for colon and prostate cancer....or a multi color heart with a blue C3 Cuddle™ for a project that could reflect several colors.  Aurifil #6738 --Peacock Blue is the perfect match--chosen from the Courageous Joy thread collection. Blast Off blue for the zipper--what a cool name for a cancer awareness project--Blast Off into a healthier new you!!!

First up though--a good cleaning with oiling for my machine--I worked her pretty hard getting ready for H+H in Houston earlier this month.

Quilting the Cuddle™ in the sunshine--so very good for the soul!!!!

And apparently my brain wasn't firing on all circuits this morning--as I drew my lines wrong--tall and wide--must not have connected right--LOL--so I didn't do the snap to keep the tray open--but it still worked out in the end--it's not quite square--but not really rectangle either!!

As I have never attached these kind of snaps before--and I used Cuddle™--was a little concerned about the process. This time I followed the instructions step by step--and happy to say that the snaps worked amazing--even with the thicker Cuddle™ fabric.

What an absolutely adorable--and very useful project. It would make a great gift for someone going through treatments. Included in this photo are a pill box, powdered electrolyte packets and some homeopathic remedies.

Being a 4-1/2 year ER+ PR+ HER2- breast cancer survivor--I want to encourage others on this journey to be a strong advocate for your own health. While I use conventional medicine, I also use natural homeopathic medicine. It is what works for me--I wanted to look deeper into the root cause of where the cancer came from--trying to heal my body from the inside out. Do your own research. Look for an integrative oncologist or functional med doctor who will listen and help you learn. Find someone who will look into hormone and gut health--both give clues as to what is happening inside the body and why the terrain was a growing ground for cancer. I found that my liver was detoxing the estrogen to the gut properly--but once it arrived--too much of another enzyme was forcing the estrogen back into my system rather than letting it pass out through the colon. I know--maybe TMI--but I just want to stress being an advocate for YOUR health!! Natural medicine is not a quick or inexpensive fix--as most is not covered by our insurance--but the knowledge learned is so valuable. Plus it gives me back a sense of control over my health. And yes--I know that the Lord is ultimately in control--but doing my part gives me great peace!! When the mind is at peace--the body can heal!!!

Being part of this cancer club is something I didn't ask to join--but now that I'm here--it's time to get down to work to clean up my health habits and help others on the journey too!!!

Being on a livestream with Annie was a highlight of my year for sure!!! Find the episode HERE.
